Google Chrome is the youngest web browser, and going to be a serious competitor for any older web browser such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Opera, and other “small” web browser. As the newest player in web browser war, I believe that Google Chrome will not going to challenge the domination of Internet Explorer at the current time. But, for other web browser, yeah… Google Chrome must be a serious contender.

I made some experiment to compare Google Chrome with the second market share leading for now, Mozilla Firefox. Let see…

• Google chrome can not find a text in the Text Area Zone. The shortcut Ctrl + F in Google Chrome only find a text in Web Area. In this case, Mozilla Firefox has a very useful Ctrl + F function because it can search all the text inside both the Text Area Zone and Web Area.
• When a hang problem occur in one of Google Chrome Tab, the other tab will not affected. In contrast, if a hang problem occur in one of Mozilla Firefox’ Tab, it will affect the other Tab and got hang too.
• Google Chrome is so much faster than Mozilla Firefox in handling the Javascript. I compared a lot, and Google Chrome win in every test.
• Sometimes, problem occur in Google Chrome when using an Ajax Application. Mozilla Firefox almost never had a serious problem in this case.
• In blogger application, Google Chrome failed to execute some color, font, and layout changes in a real time. Mozilla Firefox can execute it in a real time.
• Although Google Chrome claimed that they are faster browsing speed than other, I found that Mozilla Firefox’s speed was very close with Google Chrome. In this case, I think they have an equal browsing speed.
• Mozilla Firefox has a very much usable plugins. This is a very high positive value of Mozilla Firefox.

Well… This experiment only show a very small thing regarding the web browser war between Google Chrome versus Mozilla Firefox. Other people might have another opinion. But for me, I think Google Chrome still left a step behind the featured-rich Mozilla Firefox. Do you agree?
