Yahoo Messenger (YM) is one of the most popular messenger. Normally, we can install Yahoo Messenger by download the installer from http://messenger.yahoo.com. The installer file, named msgr9us.exe (for YM 9), is a very small sized file. It’s only 427 kb. Looks like a very simple installer, right?

But, this file is not a real installer. The installer itself, still live in yahoo directory. So, when you install the YM software with this file, or upgrading your old YM version, you still need an internet connection to connect the real YM installer there. There’s no big problem if you have a good internet connection. But, sometimes our internet connection is not in a good condition. In this case, there’s a potential of failed installation.

Is there any other way to install Yahoo Messenger?

The answer is yes. We can install Yahoo Messenger without internet connection, or in the other word : Offline. All we have to do is only download the offline installer file (version 9.0.0.2034) from another location outside yahoo directory. For example, you can download the installer here.
